Professional and Peer Networks: Strategic choices

Do you still think of your customers as individuals or are you aware of the potential associated with reader communities? The wholesale adoption of digital services and social media has transformed the way in which readers can interact with publishers, authors and with each other. Social, peer and professional networks and communities of practice have shifted the centre of gravity away from publishers, towards their customers.

On 14th March i-Publishing Consultants' Jonathan Norman will be running his Publishing Training Centre course to help you identify where the value lies within your own customer base and what forms of community are most likely to be appropriate. Previous attendees have said:

'In nearly 30 years in publishing, perhaps the most useful and practical PTC course I have ever attended.'

'He's an excellent discussion facilitator, ... he used a variety of media (handouts, videos, live demonstrations on the web) to introduce ideas and to show us how they can be applied. ... Jonathan is fantastic at extrapolating peoples' specific concerns/goals into something that can be useful for everyone - even me, who doesn't work in specialist or reference publishing and who doesn't manage a forum or portal for professionals.'

'Jonathan was a fantastic course leader and the mixture of interactive activities and teaching was great.'
